Biopharmaceutical Technology is an important specialized elective course (public elective module) for bioengineering and related majors. With Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular biology, Enzyme engineering, Genetic engineering, Bioreaction engineering, Fermentation engineering, Bioseparation engineering as the prerequisite courses, this course is a highly integrated and comprehensive application of the basic principles of many disciplines including Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering and Pharmacy. The course mainly elaborates the basic laws and typical cases of biopharmaceutical production processes. Therefore, Biopharmaceutical Technology course roles as a bridge from theory to practice, and from basis to profession, which is an important link in the industrialization of biotechnology, and plays an important role in the cultivation of the professional quality and engineering ability of bioengineering major students.

Biopharmaceutical Technology course focuses on biopharmaceutical process cases of various drugs, introducing the properties and functions of drugs, the principles and characteristics of drug production, and the design and optimization of the processes. This course belongs to engineering science with emphasis on the combination of theory and practice, the cultivation of engineering thinking and design ability, and the training of comprehensive abilities such as analysis and problem solving. Through the study of this course, students can use the guiding ideology and basic methods of technological research, and have a certain ability to solve practical engineering problems. The combination of this course and the follow-up bioengineering course design and graduation thesis and design will complete the comprehensive basic training of engineers.
